  My first visit as I had heard so much about this place. Was told to wait for lunch as only served at 12 noon, we arrived at 11:30am. We were also told that because we did not book we need to be sure to leave by 1:30pm stat as the tables were all booked. So we waited. I asked if we could order our food and happy to wait for it to be served after noon, but no go. At spot noon, we were able to order, so we did and got some warm water to hold us thru. Food when it came was really well presented so we began our feast. We ate super fast to ensure their reserved guests would have their table ensured. Just as we had almost finished, another table got served the same tasting platter as ourselves and this waitress was spectacular in explaining to their guests about where all the food had originated from and the different tastes they would experience. I looked at her in longing and wished she had been our waitress. I listened closely and got the gist so thus explained to hubby all the things she had related. We left soon after with a slight sour taste in our mouths. Service is so important and that little bit of info would have given us an insight into Tasmania at it's best. I am sorry we were not privvy to it. I will try it again.

  Some of the most well curated local produce selections we came across in our trip to Tasmania. If you're heading to cradle mountain it's only a slight detour and WELL worth a look.

  For the Bon Vivant ... we were greeted with a friendly welcome to the relaxed conservatory offering a selection of seating arrangements. The decor flourishes with vitality and a tasteful selection of Tasmanian produce and Gin! The cold platter photos are for real and the homemade side pairings are exquisite - my favourites were the mustard #1, pear&walnut, pickled fennel and onion chilli relish. A lovely surprise was the herbal lavender tea. It was a perfect place to chat, enjoy fresh food and fabulous flavours.
